Another example of hypocrisy:  the BBC’s shock at China’s effort to build national pride before the nation’s 60th anniversary. Do we in America not do this every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas?  I mean, duh.

It’s not new. I hope you have seen it already. But watch it again, for me. I watched it another half dozen times tonight.  I feel it.  It gives me chills, in a good way, like that moment at the very end of Braveheart when William’s huge oaf of a friend heaves his sword a mile into the sky….

China isn’t the only one spying

I find it disconcerting how many people are jumping onto Facebook.  I remember when Facebook was cool, when it was designated to each university, before it sold out.  It’s like people spending out the nose for Lacoste again, after we all wore it as kids growing up when it cost pennies.
